Recertification Specialist

Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and organized Recertification Specialist to join our Boston-based team on a temporary basis. Duration and hours to be determined based on project needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the tenant recertification process, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and supporting the property management team in maintaining accurate records and strong resident relations.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Recertification Management
* Schedule and conduct interim and annual recertifications with residents.
* Ensure timely collection and verification of all required documentation.
* Process recertification paperwork in accordance with federal, state, and local housing program guidelines.
2. Compliance Monitoring
* Maintain accurate and organized resident files.
* Monitor for income changes and other factors that may affect eligibility.
* Notify the Property Manager of any households out of compliance or exceeding program limits.
3. Administrative Support
* Assist the Property Manager with resident relations and application processing.
* Provide general office and clerical support as needed.
4. Communication & Resident Support
* Serve as a liaison between residents and property management regarding lease renewals, program requirements, and documentation.
* Address tenant concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
5. Inspections Support
* Assist with annual, move-in, and move-out inspections to ensure units meet property standards and compliance requirements.


Qualifications:
* Familiarity with HUD 4350 program regulations required.
* Prior experience in affordable housing, property management, or compliance preferred.
* Prior experience in affordable housing software such as Yardi or Onesite required.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish) are a plus.
